Large-scale Russian Strikes Eliminate Electricity Throughout Kyiv

Power facilities targeted in Ukraine
Ukraine's energy systems have come under escalating attacks in the past few days

Overnight, Russian missile and drone strikes have led to power cuts in large parts of the capital city, the Ukrainian capital.

Several individuals were wounded while inhabitants in the city's east were left without electricity and dealt with problems to water supplies, per reports from city officials.

Simultaneously, a young boy was killed in a different assault in the Zaporizhzhia area in the country's south-east, based on information from local officials.

Russian forces has intensified strikes on electrical systems over recent weeks, while officials has requested "real steps" from partner nations to apply pressure on Russia.

"What is required is not symbolic gestures but strong steps - from the America, European nations and the Group of Seven - in providing protection systems and applying restrictions," was stated in a public message.

Authorities reported that hundreds of unmanned aircraft and over thirty projectiles struck energy facilities, describing such attacks as "strategic and deliberate" and against "essential services" as the weather cools.

Energy officials said Moscow was "inflicting a massive strike" and maintenance teams were striving to repair systems.

A barrage of missiles struck power facilities and civilian homes in the capital.

Five out of the nine people wounded in the attacks on the city have been transported for medical care, as confirmed by municipal representatives.

Area administrators said the urban area came under heavy assaults during nighttime hours. A young boy died and three other people were wounded.

The strikes come after evenings of aerial attacks in the area, parts of which are currently controlled by Russian forces.

The entire country is in a state of readiness for advanced weapon attacks, which are more difficult to detect.

Government officials told reporters that Russia was intentionally trying to damage the country's energy grid, with strikes already disrupting energy systems.

Authorities confirmed energy workers and government agencies were bracing for additional strikes.
